Are we in for a series of earthquakes?

In a post-Nepal disaster assessment, the MHA’s National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) has warned of increased risk around the “ring of fire garlanding the entire north India especially the mountains”.

I was preparing a stick comic for my friend for his birthday. Jan 4, 2016. This is when I asked Cortana to update me with the latest news.

“Yes, Chief. An earthquake of magnitude 6.7 struck Manipur!”

Something lured me back to April 2015.

I met Shanmu Uncle that night and he said that he believe an impending tremor may hit North India in near future.

“What do you thing earthquakes are?”

“Our Earth is not a giant lump of rock as it looks. It is like hot, molten core bubbling away inside a surprisingly thin outer crust and the outer crust can be divided into tectonic plates that move. When two tectonic plates collide, earthquakes are formed.”

“When the jagged edges of two tectonic plates grind against one another a fault line or a zone arises. Most earthquakes arise along such fault zones. The ground first bends and then snaps—an earthquake—to release energy along faults.”

“But, those tremors would have relieved the energy? Why do you think a major one would occur?”

Netaji Files: Will the Declassification shed some light ?

On Jan 23, PM Narandra Modi made public digital copies of 100 secret files relating to Subhas Chandra Bose. Will it shed some light on the mysterious death of Netaji or is it just a political move?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 23rd made public digital copies of 100 secret files relating to Subhas Chandra Bose on his 119th birth anniversary, which could throw some light on the controversy over his death.

The timing of the release assumes political significance as West Bengal goes to polls later this year. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had already released 64 files last year. She will seek to cash in on the fact that she was the first to declassify the Netaji files.

*FB Chat Sound*

Ganesh sent me a link. Opened it. AND it read BERMUDA TRIANGLE: SHIP REAPPEARS 90 YEARS AFTER GOING MISSING.

“The very first problem of Bermuda triangle lies with defining it..”

“Defining it? I heard that it is an area in the Atlantic Ocean bounded by imaginary lines that run from Bermuda down to Puerto Rico, over to southeast Florida, and back up to Bermuda.”

#SaveThamirabarani

The State Government of Tamilnadu had sold Thamirabarani River, the only perennial river that originates within Tamilnadu to PepsiCo at a lower cost.

The river Thamirabarani originates from the famous Agasthyakoodam peak in Western Ghats. It flows through Tirunelveli and Tuticorin Districts of Tamilnadu and drains into Gulf of Mannar near Punnakkayal in Tuticorin District. While many scholars interpret the meaning as Thamirabarani as Thamiram (copper in Tamil language) and Varuni (stream or river), the river was mentioned in ancient Tamil texts as “Porunai”. Known as the only source of irrigation across the two dried districts throughout all seasons and also for it’s scenic beauty, this river is now sold by Government at INR 37.4 per 1000 liter.

Should NDTV be shut down?

Would NDTV become India’s News of the World ?

New Delhi Television Limited (NDTV) is an Indian commercial broadcasting television network founded in 1988 by Prannoy and Radhika Roy.

Over the years, it established itself as one of the leading News Channel in India. It had organized several campaigns through its channels to support education, rural electrification, and awareness on climate change.

Though it had few controversies like Tax fraud, and Radia tape controversy, it’s recent one “Spreading False, Misleading information about Modi’s Government” made #ShutDownNDTV trending at Top.
